Data protection and professional conduct
What we hold, we protect. As a data processor, Investigate Ireland complies with the rules set by the Data Protection Commission of Ireland as part of every contract for service.
Our principles
We are committed to the following at all times.
- Collecting and processing data in a fair and transparent manner.
- Using the data solely for one or more specified, lawful purposes.
- Processing the data only in ways consistent with the purposes for which it was provided.
- Keeping the data secure and protected.
- Keeping the data accurate and up to date.
- Ensuring the data is adequate, relevant and not excessive for its purpose.
- Retaining the data for no longer than necessary for the specified purpose.
Data security
Our purpose-built, secure offices and robust security procedures ensure that any data we hold during an engagement is always safeguarded.
Although the security industry has no specific published code of practice, we know and closely follow the Data Protection Code of Practice for the Insurance Industry, and we keep up to date with every development in data protection.
Code of professional conduct
As part of every service contract or agreement, Investigate Ireland adheres to the following code.
Confidentiality
We maintain the highest standards of integrity with current, potential and past clients, especially in keeping commercial confidentiality and protecting personal information shared during our dealings. This extends to customers, suppliers and partners.
Ethics
Our services are delivered with honesty and honour, and we expect the same of our clients and suppliers. Our advice, strategic guidance and training reflect ethical values that protect and enhance the moral integrity of everyone involved.
Duty of care
All our actions and advice comply with the relevant laws. We believe every organisation, ours included, should avoid harming the human rights of individuals, local communities or the environment, and should contribute to the wellbeing of society.
Professional conduct
We act with professionalism and integrity in everything we do. Our judgements and recommendations are objective and guided only by our clients' best interests, never by outside influence.
Consumer Protection Code
Investigate Ireland is not directly regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. As a data processor working with organisations that are, we are fully familiar with the Consumer Protection Code and comply with it at all times.
